Here are some samples of the Granites & Marbles we import from Europe, India and South America. Please be aware that we only supply 1st Grade Granite & Marble material and do not fabricate the inferior types of granite or marble available from countries such as China as we believe "Quality is Remembered long after the Price is Forgotten.". Please note that these photo samples are purely indicative and that Granite and Marble is subject to natural colour variation.

What is Granite
Granite is an igneous rock originating from the crystallisation of molten magna cooling deep below the earths surface.
The three main minerals which compose the Granite are Felspar, Mica and Quartz. It is the varying density of these minerals along with the differing cooling times that come together to give the vast array of Granite at our disposal.

What is Marble
Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from regional or at times contact metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, either limestone or dolostone. This metamorphic process causes a complete recrystallization of the original rock into an interlocking mosaic of calcite, aragonite and/or dolomite crystals. Pure white marble is the result of metamorphism of very pure limestones. The characteristic swirls and veins of many coloured marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities such as clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, or chert which were originally present as grains or layers in the limestone. These various impurities have been mobilized and recrystallized by the intense pressure and heat of the metamorphism.
